Consumer attitudes and behavior regarding communication services have dramatically changed over the past decade. To better understand the attitudes and behaviors that will drive the adoption of next-generation applications and services, In-Stat recently conducted an electronic survey of over 1,000 North American households that currently subscribe to broadband Internet access service. The report covers current usage of communication and entertainment services and general lifestyle questions. The research identified six groups of households with distinctive characteristics.
In response to the different kinds of households, service providers must form new strategies. This report not only defines each different type of household but also provides information on the strategies that will best work moving forward with the next generation of applications and services.
