In 2007, Transformational Government mandated a call for a greater focus on the customer, budget reductions of 3% year-on-year, and an increased emphasis on regionally shared services. London Borough of Brent needed to gather data for their various sources and create a single master record, clean up duplicate files and provide compliance with the Data Protection Act.
This paper discusses how Brent used IBM to supply the customer data integration and master data management (MDM) to consolidate back-end systems to reduce administration costs, improve customer service and minimise benefit fraud.
