Social media giant captures full body motion for VR
A top social media firm is gathering extensive full body motion data to train AI/ML algorithms for their upcoming VR headset. To ensure inclusivity, they've sourced a diverse pool of 1,500 participants for motion capture, considering factors like skin tones, BMI, height, gender, age, etc. to avoid bias.
They've also captured motion data in various environments like living rooms, bedrooms, and offices, and with different clothing. This dataset will enable the VR headset's AI to recognize a broad range of human bodies, movements, and contexts.
