Unifying perception and reality in password management

Despite decades of advice to use strong, unique passwords, the Keeper Password Survey reveals only 25% of respondents do so. Many use repeat variations (34%) or simple passwords (30%), making them vulnerable to attacks.

The survey of over 8,000 individuals in the US, UK, France, and Germany found that while 36% believe their passwords are well-managed, only one-third use best practices, indicating overconfidence.

Further, 51% think cybersecurity is easy to understand, yet half still use repeat variations. Many feel overwhelmed by cybersecurity, especially younger generations, highlighting the need for more accessible education.
