How to Optimize Cloud Cost & Align it to Business Value Delivered
By:
Type: Talk
At the start of 2020, over 560 of 750 (>70%) cloud decision-makers told Flexera they were shifting focus towards increasing cloud cost savings. The pandemic forced enterprises to prioritize implementations at the expense of optimization and management concerns, with many enterprises making cloud cost optimization a new priority. According to Gartner, organizations that lack appropriate cost optimization processes are overspending by about 40% on cloud. Many organizations struggling to curb their cloud costs wonder if they made the right decision to move to the cloud in the first place. This lack of awareness and transparency around cost leads to all kinds of consequences, such as run-away spending and unpredictable cost spikes. Cloud Cost optimization is not limited to managing cloud spending alone. Join Sangfor experts to learn about the benefits of FinOps, and discover how to improves cloud visibility, performance, and aligns costs with value.

Metrics that Matter: Cost
By:
Type: Replay
Cost per unit is a common metric throughout our economy. Many of you know the cost of a gallon of gas, or the cost for a cup of coffee, or the cost of a movie ticket. Yet surprisingly, many service and support managers do not know their own cost per contact or cost per ticket. In any service delivery organization, cost, or more accurately unit cost, is critically important. cost per ticket is a measure of how efficiently a service desk conducts its business. A higher than average cost per ticket is not necessarily a bad thing, particularly if accompanied by higher than average customer satisfaction and service levels. Conversely, a low cost per ticket is not necessarily good, particularly if the low cost is achieved by sacrificing service levels or customer satisfaction. Every service desk should track and trend cost per ticket on a monthly basis. Learn how to capture and calculate cost per unit of work in this new MetricNet webcast! Additionally, Jeff Rumburg will reveal why this KPI is so important, share the key drivers of cost, and provide benchmarking ranges for both cost per contact and cost per ticket.

Maximizing cloud investments: The new TCO, Total Cost Optimization
By:
Type: Replay
Many organizations are entering into a phase of cost cutting efforts across all aspects of their business, especially for IT. At times, these efforts rotate into a fervent slide into assessing IT spend via Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) which is the estimation of the expenses associated with purchasing, deploying, using, and retiring a software product. Unfortunately, more often than not, this turns into a race to the bottom on spending with little regard to the business value outcomes of an organization’s spend reduction. In this session, you will learn how to counter this by reframing TCO to Total Cost Optimization, which is the continuous discipline to drive spending and cost reduction, while maximizing business value. In other words, how do you keep an eye on spending, but do so while amplifying your return on investment (ROI). This is where organizations shift spending to the left while the dollar-for-dollar outcomes produced are greater than anything possible with a lowest cost alternative. Compound this with cloud cost optimization strategies, to ensure your IT investment goes further now than in the past. Don’t miss this session for LOB owners, CTOs, IT directors, and IT professionals as industry experts share their real-world experiences of helping organizations maximize their IT spend through leveraging turn-key application platforms, hybrid cloud consistent hyperscaler services, and evolve their FinOps strategies for greater ROI and more competitive market offerings.

Metrics that Matter: Customer Satisfaction
By:
Type: Video
Customer satisfaction and cost per ticket are the yin and yang of a service organization. These metrics are in constant tension, and every service organization grapples with how to strike an appropriate balance between the two. With no restraints on spending, it is relatively easy for a support organization to “spend its way” to high customer satisfaction. Conversely, if customer satisfaction is not an issue, a support organization can reduce its costs almost indefinitely. Every support organization should be tracking customer satisfaction on an ongoing basis because it is a measure of how effectively a support organization conducts its business. Moreover, every support manager should be regularly asking: If customer satisfaction is one of the "foundation metrics", how can we affect it? How can we improve it? Put another way, if customer satisfaction is suffering, what is the diagnosis? Learn how to capture and calculate customer satisfaction in this new MetricNet webcast! Additionally, Jeff Rumburg will discuss the tradeoff between cost and quality, and share the key drivers of customer satisfaction along with benchmarking ranges for a representative cross-section of North American support organizations.
